Letter from the Artist

Letter from the Artist

Welcome to my studio. My name is Samira, and I am a 24-year-old designer and artist.

Before the war, I was doing what I loved most: studying design, dreaming of the future, and creating. Today, my life looks completely different. I live in a tent in Gaza with a family of nine including my niece's. We face difficult circumstances together, but continue to hold on to hope and support one another. We have lost many extended family members. Our family apartment was blown up, and with it, the quiet life we cherished including my beloved pet cat and bird, who are gone.

Amid the noise and the loss, art has become my sanctuary. It is the place where I hold onto my identity, my creativity, and my voice. Every piece in this collection is a reflection of the dreams I still carry. I pray every day for this war to end so that I can finally return to the life I was dreaming of, step back into a classroom, and build a peaceful future.

By sharing my art with the world, I am reaching out from our tent to connect with you, sharing a piece of my resilience and hope.

Because my world has felt so fragile, it was incredibly important to me that the physical prints of my work be permanent, strong, and enduring. I wanted to create something built to last a lifetime, crafted with the absolute lowest environmental impact possible.

That journey led me to Hahnemühle Agave (290gsm).

This revolutionary paper is the gold standard for sustainable fine art. Made from 70% agave sisal fibres - a resilient desert crop that grows effortlessly without pesticides or artificial watering and 30% cotton, it is entirely resource-conscious. It features a beautifully raw, delicate matte texture that gives my designs a stunning, tangible depth in the physical world.

Unlike standard poster paper that yellows and fades, this museum-grade, acid-free stock is certified to last for well over 100 years. It ensures that the stories I tell through my art will endure for generations.

To eliminate waste and respect our planet's resources, this store carries zero physical inventory. Every single piece is printed on demand, specifically for you.

While I create from a tent, my art can reach you anywhere in the world. I partner with a professional, carbon-neutral fine art printing network with fulfilment labs in the US, UK, and Europe.

When you place an order for a fine art print, it is automatically routed and printed at the facility closest to your front door. This drastically cuts down transit times and shipping emissions. Every order is wrapped in 100% plastic-free packaging and delivered via complimentary, carbon-neutral shipping.

Thank you for stepping into my world, for honouring my story, and for supporting my journey back toward my dreams.

With gratitude,

Samira Al-Hosari
